  • Haryana Polytechnic Entrance Exam (known as Haryana DET) is a state-level entrance examination for diploma and polytechnic programs in Haryana.

Eligibility, Syllabus & Application Process

Eligibility Criteria

Although the final rules are yet to be posted and will likely be published in 2026, broad eligibility requirements are:

  • For Diploma Engineering: Students who have qualified Class 10 (SSLC / Matric) or equivalent from a recognized board

  • There may be courses that require students to have taken maths or the sciences in Class 10

  • For Lateral (into 2nd year): Students with 10+2 (science) or with an ITI certificate may be eligible.

  • For Non-Engineering Diploma / Pharmacy: varies, but is often 10th pass or equivalent.

Application Process

  1. Online Registration: Students are expected to register on the portal (Tech Admissions Haryana or HSTES portal) with basic personal details.

  2. Filling the Form: After registering online, a student will be required to fill out further personal details (educational qualifications, subject-wise marks, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) and upload details.

  3. Payment of Fee: There is an application fee, which can be paid online (via net banking/UPI/card).

Syllabus / Subjects

Since most diploma courses are technical in nature, subjects from the relevant diploma course will often be factored into merit based on the students’ respective marks (Math, Science, Physics, Chemistry).
